Hi Larissa, The Break Inc are a not-for-profit charity who are one of the organising partners for the St Kilda Peace Festival. As part of the festival we are organising several things which I hoped you may be able to assist us with. These being: 1. submission of artwork for an online gallery to be operated by the Planetary Healing Artists. Photos of the work will be on the online gallery and all profits generated by sale of work goes back to artists 2. The Break are video interviewing artists who are currently in or come from a background of disadvantage or homelessness. We seek to get 2 x 5 minute interviews with aforementioned artists. The first interview about their artistic process. The second interview to shed light on disadvantage to educate the mainstream community of what it's really like. Each interview is 8 short questions. 3. People who may be interested in having stage time to discuss the plight of the disadvataged for several minutes from a perspective of lived experience.
Aven pointed us in your dierction. She is a friend of Deb Wood whom I beleive you know.
We are seeking artists you could refer us to for the above-mentioned tasks. Artists can be involved in as little or as much as they like. They are not obligated to answer all interview questions if they choose not to. We are also happy to de-identify aritsts who wish to retain anonymity by filming from behind or having an actor perform their responses.
Our deadline to complete all interviews in just 1 week, as we had hoped to get homeless artists in the city (as we found many pre-covid) but they have yet to return to the streets post-covid lockdown.
Any help you could offer us would be greatly appreciated.
